Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Stone County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine server records may collect these technical details when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is provided
- Pages viewed and the length of a visit
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services can show aggregate patterns, such as popular pages or points where visits end. A browser can block or remove cookies, although parts of the site may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a search request to the selected outside provider
- Maintain site availability, speed, and security
- Diagnose errors and other technical problems
- Measure which pages serve visitors well
- Display advertising that may reflect user interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Stone County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its content identifies official sources such as the Stone County Sheriff, the Circuit Court, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into a consumer report or a record about another person. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing terms apply to data submitted through its tool. Those practices are outside this site's control, so review the provider's policy before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Stone County Sheriff, Missouri courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search providers. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy terms govern the visit. Review those terms before providing personal data.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. Their tracking is controlled by their policies.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Advertising networks that serve page ads
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- A court or government body acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect collected data. No internet system can guarantee perfect protection, however, and this site cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor can be requested for deletion.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide rights concerning personal data. Missouri's Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, governs access to government records, while Chapter 43 governs state criminal-history collection and dissemination. Those public-record laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Visitors may still:
- Request a copy of personal information held about them
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion of personal data
- Opt out of processing where that choice is available
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as practices or legal requirements develop. A revised version will appear here with a new effective date.
